Sugar Cookie Romper Pattern Released

My youngest son is much more at ease without any pants on.  And since he’s still a baby, it’s still socially acceptable for him to toddle around in nothing but a onesie.

But we live in Ohio.  And it’s January.  So he needs something warm that doesn’t inhibit him the same way pants do.

I designed the Sugar Cookie Romper for him.  This loose-fitting, unrestrictive hooded romper is perfect for active babies and toddlers.  The top fits like a T-shirt.  The romper is loose through the hips to fit comfortably around a diaper (this romper is cloth-diaper friendly!).  Snaps along the inseam allow for quick and easy diaper changes.  And the hood adds just a bit of cuteness and warmth.

This romper has a gusset for easy movement through the legs with a snap placket along the inseam.

The hood binding overlaps slightly in the front.

Cuffs at the wrists allow the sleeves to be pushed up and out of the way at mealtime, art time, or any other messy time.  The ankles are also cuffed.

This pattern comes in sizes 0-3 M through 18-24 M (up to 34.5 inches).  It is designed to be made using knit fabric with at least 50% stretch (50% stretch is needed to fit over the head).  I recommend interlock or jersey, but any knit with 50% stretch will work.  Other notions needed are interfacing and snaps.

My testers rated this pattern as appropriate for an advanced beginner.

The tutorial includes step-by-step instructions with photographs.  This pattern is also has the layers feature, allowing you to only print the size that you need.

You can purchase the pattern for this super-comfy romper pattern at either my Etsy or Craftsy shop on sale for $5 (regularly $8) now through Sunday. Or, head on over to the Betties’ blog where I’m participating in a week of “scavenger hunt” giveaways and enter to win a copy!
